Amazon Prime Just Added a New Perk: 10 You Should Start Using

Amazon Prime has just announced a brand new membership benefit for 2023: a monthly prescription service called RxPass this will allow Prime members to get all of their prescriptions for a monthly subscription cost of $5. The new perk joins a long list of existing Prime perks, some well-known (free two-day shipping, anyone?) and some less so.

For example, Amazon Prime members can actually get deliveries much faster than two days, sometimes within hours. You can also schedule delivery dates for convenience or to avoid times when you’ll be away from home. And you even get exclusive offers just by use Alexa on an Amazon Echo.

All your prescriptions for $5 a month

Announced in early 2023, Amazon’s RxPass could be a good deal for those with monthly prescriptions. For just $5 a month (on top of your existing Prime membership fees), you can get all of your qualifying medications covered – and they’ll be delivered to your doorstep. This means that if you are currently paying more than $5 per month for your combined medications, this add-on subscription could save you money. You can get free same day delivery on eligible items

If there’s a product you want right away, you can see if it’s available for delivery the same day you order. To check product eligibility, look for delivery marked as “Prime FREE Same-Day” while shopping. Note that your order must contain more than $35 of qualifying items. Otherwise, you will have to pay a small fee.

Amazon will deliver morning to night, so you won’t have to worry about getting your order at 3am. However, same day delivery is not available everywhere, so enter your postcode on the Same Day Delivery Amazon Page to see if you are eligible.

Alexa can share additional discounts when you shop on Echo

You can use your Amazon Echo to ask “Alexa, what are my offers?at any time. Alexa will then share Prime exclusive offers, and you’ll have the option to add the item to your cart, buy it now, or move on to the next offer.

Schedule a convenient ship date for your package

Everyone knows about free two-day delivery from Amazon, but another option is to choose a delivery date when paying. It’s called Amazon Day and it’s useful if there’s a specific day when you know someone will be home to answer packages – especially if it’s something expensive that you don’t want to risk leaving it unattended.

If you order multiple items on different days, you can have them delivered on the same day as long as they are eligible for this offer.

Use your Amazon Echo to help you track packages

If you have a Amazon Echo of any kindyou can use it to track your orders.

Just say “Alexa, where’s my package?” and your Echo will tell you where it is, who it’s for and when it arrives. Once your order has been delivered, the Echo’s light ring will flash yellow and if you have the Echo Show, the delivery notification will appear on the screen.

Buy early access offers before non-Prime members

If something you watched says “Prime Early Access”, as a Prime member you can purchase this sale 30 minutes before non-Prime members. However, you will still have to compete with other Prime members interested in the product before it sells out.

Amazon can leave your package inside your home

When you know you won’t be home for a while and you have a shipment on the way, it’s much safer to have an Amazon employee leave your items inside your home to prevent theft.

For home delivery, you will need a Smart lock compatible with keys and one (optional) Amazon Cloud Cam. The Amazon driver will send you a notification when he arrives at your place and ask you to unlock your door. Amazon will verify that the package is at the correct address and that the driver is near the door, then turn on Amazon Cloud Cam and unlock your door.

If you are suspicious let a total stranger into your home, remember that you will also receive notifications throughout the process. Note that you can choose block delivery access to your home — for example, if you know you will be home during this time.

Just note that not all items on Amazon are eligible.

Share Prime benefits with your family

If you have another adult living in your household, such as a significant other or a friend, you can share your Prime membership with them. You will still be able to separate your personal accounts, but you will both have access to the same Prime benefits.

You can also share your account with up to four teens and up to four children in your household. Although they have their own logins, you can still manage their profiles.
