Alienware Aurora R15 i7 Raptor Lake RTX 4090 Gaming PC for $3510 (or RTX 4080 for $3087)
with liquid cooling and 1350W power supply
The Alienware Aurora R15 is the newest version of Alienware’s Aurora line of gaming PCs. This is Dell’s first-ever PC with both the 13th Gen Intel Raptor Lake processor and RTX 40-series GPU. Its price is well above most gamers’ budget, but that’s because Dell selected the latest and greatest components. The Intel Core i7-13700KF boasts a turbo clock speed of 5.4 GHz and a whopping 16 cores and 24 threads. It’s considerably more powerful than the same i9-12900K and it even gives the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X a run for its money.
The RTX 4080 and 4090 are the most powerful video cards you can get right now, even better than AMD’s latest Radeon RX 9700 XTX. They are significantly more powerful than the RTX 30 series cards: the 4080 is 50% faster than the 3080 Ti and the 4090 is 90% faster. These are really the only viable solutions for 4K gaming with ray tracing over 60fps. If you’re still not convinced, check out our RTX4080 And RTX-4090 Comments.
The R15 significantly improves CPU cooling. While older models used a 120mm AIO cooler to manage CPU temperatures, the R15 uses a 240mm AIO cooler. Doubling the area and doubling the fans should equate to lower and more stable CPU temperatures. For $50 more, you can upgrade to “Crytech” cooling, which gives you a slightly thicker heatsink, RGB lighting, and better fans. There are three additional 120mm fans in the chassis to provide ample airflow for the video card as well. The R15 is powered by a massive 1350W PSU that should handle anything you can throw at it. The configurations mentioned included 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage, although they could be customized.
