Depeche Mode Announce New Album Memento Mori, Share Video for New Song: Watch

Depeche Mode have shared more details about their upcoming album. Memento Mori will be released on March 24 via Colombia. The album will feature a new single titled “Ghosts again”, which arrives with its own music video. In the visual, Dave Gahan and Martin Gore play chess on an urban rooftop and perform together in a graveyard. Find the video, along with the album artwork and track listing, below.

The group revealed that a new album was on the way last fall, about five months after the death by founding member Andy “Fletch” Fletcher. “We started working on this project at the start of the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time,” Martin Gore said of the record at the time. “After Fletch passed away, we decided to continue because we’re sure that’s what he would have wanted, and it really gave the project extra meaning.”

Dave Gahan added: “Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at next year’s shows. Memento Mori follows Depeche Mode’s 2017 LP Mind.

In addition to teasing the new feature film last year, Depeche Mode announced a slate of North American and European tour dates, which begin March 23 in Sacramento, California. An arena tour of Europe ensues, extending through August. The group was also enlisted for Primavera 2023.
