The Seat Filler Next to Ben Affleck Says He Knew Was Becoming a Meme at the Grammys

Ben Affleck knew his Grammy Awards 2023 misery was going viral, and he didn’t care. At least that’s what the seat filler next to him and Jennifer Lopez shared on his TikTok.

The user, @almostanna, posted a two-minute video where she talked about her experience of sitting next to them for part of the show. “I was next to them for a good part; it was my favorite seat. I was right in front of Beyoncé,” she began. “So I didn’t know the Ben Affleck meme getting upset at awards shows, like I didn’t know that was a thing, but…”

She also decided not to speak to Affleck because “[he] I didn’t look happy so I didn’t want to talk to him and say “Oh my god, GOOD Will to hunt is one of my favorite movies. You are my hero.’ Because I didn’t want to do this and I didn’t want to be embarrassed. So don’t judge me for that. It was scary. I was so lucky to be right next to them.

“The whole time they were cute and shitty,” she continued, adding that Lopez alerted Affleck to his burgeoning Grammys meme status. “J.Lo showed Ben Affleck the phone and said, ‘Oh my god, honey, look at this meme going around about you,’ and he said, ‘Oh my god, that again.’ For example, he knew during the performance that he was a meme. Like he knew, and he also chose not to change his expression. I love how carefree it is. So, I know that she was like on his phone and saw him and said, “Honey, that’s so funny, look at that,” and he was like, “Jesus Christ.”

They were very much in love though, she said, “They were super in love, like their hands were still intertwined. Like, I don’t know how to describe it but they just were, so it wasn’t like, ‘Oh my god, this is going to lead to divorce’, like, they were cute.

She revealed that the couple left early, “and Ben, for example, took the skirt of her dress and lifted it up too much and J.Lo said, ‘Honey! That was really silly!” Watch her full video above.
