UPDATE
2:15 p.m. PT – Miami PD tells TMZ … that units responded to the address in reference to a possible ongoing burglary. Upon arrival we were told they had been advised the suspect may be armed and still in the building – prompting a perimeter to be set outside.
Miami cops descended on nearby area bad bunny‘s from downtown – leaving many wondering if he’s okay… but we’ve learned it has nothing to do with him.
The reggaeton artist’s Japanese steakhouse, Gekko – which he co-owns with David Grutman – is currently surrounded by dozens of police vehicles – with SWAT units also on the scene. The streets are blocked… and passers-by are filming the dramatic scene.
There are several units parked right outside BB’s establishment, with officers seen entering and exiting through the main entrance – so, understandably, there was panic that something had happened to the beloved rapper… this n is not the case, however. Bad Bunny is unharmed.
Sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell TMZ … Gekko owners have been made aware of a possible fugitive situation taking place at the SLS LUX Brickell Hotel – which is adjacent to Gekko and shares the block. This explains this type of police response.
Our sources tell us that Gekko is not directly involved in this matter…the restaurant just happens to be a gateway to the hotel and is in the center of it coincidentally. We’re also told that Bad Bunny isn’t in Florida right now, so he’s not even close to what’s going on.
Gekko has become a huge hotspot in town…when Bad Bunny and Grutman opened this place in August, it attracted a big crowd and lots of celebrities. So it’s pretty well known.

Seems like everything the police are dealing with is fluid. We have contacted the ministry for clarification on what exactly is going on and if there is an active threat.
So far, no word back.
