A British radio host by the name of Chris Moyles found himself in a some hot water week for possibly spilling the wick on confidential information foo fighters Info.

While playing Foo Fighters’ “Walk” on air, Moyles got a little carried away with the music and mentioned on air a new Foo Fighters album that could be weeks away before reaching the ears of the public:

“I love this song so much – Foo Fighters and ‘Walk’… They have a new album coming out in, uh, March, Foo Fighters… which I’m looking forward to.”

Naturally, Foo Fighters fans ran with the news and caused such a stir online that poor Chris had to hit the airwaves again to apologize to Dave and the crew, saying, “I caused a bit of a mess. I’m at a very uncomfortable impasse and I don’t really know what to do… I made another radio station’s site! Strong sense of humor clearly intact, Moyles added:

“I don’t know what to say without getting in trouble, I don’t know what to say without people saying, ‘what?’, I don’t know what to say without sounding stupid…I don’t know what people want me to say.

I think people want me to say, ‘Yes, I can’t say anything else, I can’t say anything more but yes, I’m telling you there’s a new album coming out in March of this year. ‘ I won’t say any of that.

Realizing that saying more would only sink him into a deeper hole, Moyles apologizes to Mr. Dave Grohl“Look, all I’m going to say is this…I can’t say any more…anyway, sorry Dave.” I’m really sorry Dave.

Hmmm, seems a bit suspicious. Was the radio station fishing for advertising? Or was it a real honest mistake? It should be noted that despite all the press this caused, neither Grohl nor representatives of the Foos camp responded.

Here’s hoping that was indeed a fact-based slip and that there’s a new Foo Fighters album just around the corner.
