Wife of Missing South Carolina Man Calls for Donations to Stop Amid Distressing Rumors

Nearly three weeks after his disappearance, the wife of a missing South Carolina man has called for GoFundMe donations to stop following a series of distressing rumours. Tyler Doyle, 23, went missing in Myrtle Beach after his boat sank while on a duck hunting trip on January 26. As authorities paint the waters for Doyle and other victims, his family and friends have taken to social media to call on people to stop spreading ‘drama and rumour’, although the New York Post reports that it is unclear which rumors they refer to exactly. A friend of the Doyles created a GoFundMe to support his wife Lakelyn, who continues to receive donations even after their pleas to quit. “Because of the rumors and everything that’s going on, his wife, Lakelyn, wants me to stop all donations to fund myself,” said Hannah Faulk, family friend and fundraiser. writing on the GoFundMe page. “Thank you again for all the donations, but as a woman [sic] 30 weeks pregnant, she can’t handle everyone’s opinion and the stress on her body for the sake of the baby. The GoFundMe had raised over $30,000.
