Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday have unveiled the teaser for their upcoming movie, Dream Girl 2. Released on the eve of Valentine’s Day, it teases the new Dream Girl without showing her face but it’s obvious Ayushmann isn’t just talking about a girl’s voice this time but is also disguised as one. Sharing the teaser on Monday night, Ananya wrote on Instagram, “I was thinking of signing karne per film mein ek heroine thi, yeh @pooja___dreamGirl ko sab kyun call kar rahe hain guys (thought there was only one heroine in the movie at the time of signing the project, why is everyone calling it Pooja now)? #7KoSaathMein #DreamGirl2 will be released in cinemas on July 7, 2023.”
The teaser opens with a woman dressed in a sparkly halterneck blouse and lehenga sitting on the bed with her back to the camera. She gets a call from ‘Pathane‘ who wishes her on Valentine’s Day. She continues to talk to him while putting on makeup. He says, ‘meri Jawan aa aarahi hai (my Jawan comes out)’ and asks her when would she come. And she reveals her plans to come on July 7.
A fan commented on the teaser shared by Ayushmann, “What a marketing bro, promoted 3 movies.” Another wrote, “Looks like SRK will have a cameo in this movie.” Shah Rukh Jawan’s next film will be released on June 2.
Dream Girl 2 also stars Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa and Rajpal Yadav. The film was directed by Raaj Shaandilya and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Telefilms Limited. This is the second installment after the 2019 hit film Dream Girl which starred Nushrratt Bharuccha along with Ayushmann. In the film, Ayushmann played a hotline caller who would change his voice to a girl’s voice.
Dream Girl 2 was scheduled to be released on June 23, a week before Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s Satya Prem Ki Katha, which is slated for release on June 29.
Speaking about the second installment of the Dream Girl franchise, Ayushmann previously said in a statement, “I’m super happy with Dream Girl 2! This is my second release with Balaji Motion Pictures and I’m grateful to Ektaa for bringing this franchise to life. I found a friend in Raaj and it’s exciting to team up with him again Ananya Panday was paired with me and I can’t wait to see the public reaction to our chemistry.
