Sony and Polyphony Digital are about to release a virtual reality upgrade for racing game Gran Turismo 7 the day before PlayStation VR2 goes on sale.
February 21, Update 1.29 will be released(Opens in a new window) for Gran Turismo 7 on the PS5unlocking “full” PlayStation VR2 support, which comes out a day later February 22.
With the update installed, PS5 owners who purchase the new VR headset will be able to experience all races and race modes (except “2P Split Screen” mode) through virtual reality. The experience is further enhanced by the inclusion of specially optimized HDR tone mapping and dynamic 3D sound.

Developer Polyphony Digital has also added support for rendered foveal(Opens in a new window). It uses the PlayStation VR2’s eye-tracking feature to detect where the user is looking, then renders that area of the screen in high definition.

Outside of racing, PlayStation VR2 owners will also be able to take advantage of a virtual reality vehicle showroom. It includes 12 location backgrounds to choose from and the ability to view each car from different angles or move around inside the car. Every car included in the game can be viewed in the VR Showroom.
