Princess Kate made a sensational return to the BAFTAs.
The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the 2023 EE British Academy Film Awards this afternoon, where they appeared on the red carpet for the first time in three years. This year, Kate continued her tradition of wearing white dresses to the esteemed ceremony, while adding a bit of edge with some surprising accessories.
The royal ensemble consisted of a one-shoulder goddess-style dress by Alexander McQueen that she previously wore at the ceremony 2019, with an additional back sash decoration on his left shoulder. She teamed up with black velvet opera gloves, matching William’s velvet double-breasted jacket.

Kate also wore a rectangular black clutch to match the gloves and finished the look with a pair of drop earrings adorned with rose gold petals.
Along with the velvet piece, William’s sleek iteration of the traditional tuxedo included black dress pants, a white shirt and a black bow tie.
For their last appearance at the prestigious awards ceremony, in 2020, the then Cambridges followed the evening suggested dress code promote sustainability. Kate re-wore a white and gold Alexander McQueen look she previously wore in 2012. She accessorized the short-sleeved dress with gold Jimmy Choo PumpsA Anya Hindmarch coverand a Van Cleef & Arpels mother-of-pearl necklace and matching earrings.
Meanwhile William, who has been president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010, looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo and bow tie.
