It’s one of the most iconic opening montages in recent cinematic history – and one of the most devastating. Anyone who says they can get through the first ten minutes of Pixar’s Up without crying is simply a liar, but one viewer managed to dry their eyes enough to spot what could be a huge mistake.
A Redditor pointed out that the same character model appears to appear twice in the opening montage, which documents Ellie and Carl’s long marriage. And said duplicate character model appears in two very different roles. (Want to create your own masterpiece? Check out our guide to the best 3D modeling software.)
It’s an insanely good place, and something that seems to have gone unnoticed since the movie was released in 2009. But yeah, that guy certainly sounds like a moonlit doctor as a priest. And it’s surprising that Ellie and Carl didn’t notice, because the same man who married them also brought them tragic news in the hospital.
“Woah that’s weird to think about, I’d probably say they just reused the character model and changed the hair color a bit,” one user comments, while another adds, “LOL same guy sure. I mean, I don’t think they intended it to be, they just hoped no one would notice.” “Hey, in this economy you need two jobs to survive,” one user suggests.
Still, while it’s kind of funny to think that Pixar may have accidentally used the same model (or indeed hoped we wouldn’t notice), we’re going to let the studio die – that’s not lazy when it comes to stunning animation detail. Just take a look at these amazing facts about Toy Story 4.
