Although 38 years have passed since the release of the first Back to the future film, the trilogy seems to be ubiquitous in pop culture. Fans of the iconic movies have seen actors Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd meet up at New York Comic Con last fall and tease new potential BTTF projectt via Twitter, and it seems the stars have no intention of missing out on any potential encounters. Most recently, the cast of BTTF was pictured at the Fan Expo Portland convention with smiles all around.
Posted on Instagram by Fox and his co-star Leah Thompson, these heartwarming images show the main cast nearly four decades after their rise to stardom. “Wow honestly had the best time today with my #bttf family,” Thompson writing. She posed with Fox, Lloyd and Thomas F. Wilson (who played Biff Tannen) in a series of group photos. “I love being at these FanExpo events and seeing some of my favorite people like Lea, Tom, Chris and all of you #bttf chefs. Heavy,” Fox said in an Instagram story. (“Heavy” is a reference to his character Marty McFly, who used the word to describe things that surprised him.)
Thompson’s photo carousel also included a few videos with her beloved partners. “My favorite favorite guy of all time,” she told Wilson in the video. He hugged her and then got into character saying, “Hello, is anyone home? Eh? Think Lea, think. Lloyd also shared a group portrait on his instagramcaptioned, “Found the Flux Capacitor. Brought us all back to 2023 just in time for @fanexpoportland. All in all, it seemed like a memorable event for the stars and hopefully it will score sometime soon the return of this beloved series in another project, although there is no word yet.
