Pedal bikes are a great way to get around town and beyond, with foldable models offering extra storage convenience between trips. Budget-friendly electric mobility startup KBO Bike has launched a 60-mile electronic record with a half-turn throttle that costs less than a thousand dollars.
KBO operates its direct-to-consumer business model out of Carson City, Nevada, though its e-bikes are manufactured in Asia. The Flip joins commuters, all-terrain rollerbladers, a stealthy urban adventurer and cargo hauler as the newest member of the company’s low-cost e-bike offerings.
It’s built around a 6061 aluminum folding frame with quick-release levers and folds down to 92.9 x 37 x 70 cm (36.6 x 14.6 x 27.6 in) in three stages to transportation between trips or indoor storage. The frame even sports a built-in carry handle for easily climbing the steps to the desk or onto the train car.
The e-bike weighs 57 lbs (26 kg) and offers a total payload capacity of 275 lbs (125 kg), and with an integrated rear rack, riders can carry the essentials on adventures off the beaten path. town, carry books to school inside the bag or the optional strap on a backpack full of groceries.

KBO Bikes
The Flip features a 500W geared rear hub motor and offers three pedal assist modes via cadence/speed sensing or half-turn throttle up to a top speed of 20 mph ( 32 km/h). KBO has also included a set of 7-speed Shimano gears for riding flexibility.
A lockable and removable 15.6 Ah Li-ion battery sits behind the seatpost and is rated for over 96.5 km (60 miles) of power-assisted riding per charge or 35 miles on the throttle alone. A suspension fork and wide, comfortable saddle should help smooth out bumps along the way, aided by the 3-inch Chaoyang all-terrain tires wrapped around the e-bike’s 20-inch wheels. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes with 160mm rotors.
