CLOT x Nike “CLOTEZ” “Black/Varsity Maize” First Look

Following the highly anticipated release of the “Black/White” colorway inspired by the yin-yang philosophywe now have a first look at CLOT X Nike “CLOTEZ” in “Black/Varsity Maize”. Coming courtesy of QuiJungWoofirst images from the upcoming release reveal the take believed to be inspired by the iconic jumpsuit worn by Bruce Lee in 1979 game of death.

Appearing in the incomplete Hong Kong martial arts film filmed before the Jeet Kune Do founder’s death, the bold yellow and black combination has become a major part of pop culture, with a series of homages, the most famous being raised by Uma Thurmanis the character of the bride in Quentin TarantinoIt is Kill Bill (2003).

Expressing a mix of “Black/Varsity Maize”, the next release, which is expected to be the second of three colorways, sees the 3-in-1 Nike Cortez design by CLOT Founder and creative director Edison Chen with budding designer Harry Wong dressed for high-vis contrast. The interior of the indoor shoe features premium yellow leather uppers, contrasting black Swooshes and nylon tongues. Additional details come in the form of language tags and Chinese “功” and “夫” (kung Fu) characters embroidered on the heels. While the accompanying traditional kung fu slip-on comes in matte black, yellow Swooshes, serrated outsoles and yin-yang symbol drawstring closures.

The shoe is also expected to come with matching detachable insoles and special packaging marking the collaboration and colorway.
